Goal for staff: Make each day your masterpiece. You have to apply yourself each day to becoming a little better. By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach being the best you can be.

Goal for editors & advisor: Define success for those under your leadership as total commitment and effort to the team's welfare. Then show it yourself with your own effort and performance. Most of those you lead will do the same. Those who don't should be encouraged to look for a new team. — John Wooden

1. What people did for winter break: News
This might be a little bit late, but we could find some people who went to exotic places and who did interesting things over winter break and do an article summarizing the different things that students do for winter break, and we could also track which different places students go.
Interviews: Students (teachers too?) who went away or did interesting things for winter break.

2. Winter Sports: Sports
I'm not sure if we've done something like this, but maybe we can investigate why basketball is the only winter sport. Since it's the only sport then a lot of students have nothing to do for a season, and a lot of other extracurriculars get overflowed, for example I know the winter play had cuts this year which usually doesn't happen.
Interviews: Josh Frechette, students who don't play winter sports

3. Semester 2 Classes: News
There are a whole host of classes being offered in second semester that were not offered before: either in first semester or ever. Maybe we could do a profile about the different english electives the juniors can take now that they don't have english III, and also the african dance class, and any other class that's being offered during semester 2 that was not during semester 1.
Interviews: Teachers of different classes, students planning to take these classes.

4. Valentines Day Pillow Fight: Features/op/ed
Events such as Lovefest, Gay Pride Parade, and Valentines Day Pillow Fight in the city are exciting and fun, but is MA represented at them? Maybe we could do a profile on these events, focusing on the Pillow Fight, and see if the MA population attends these festivals. We could ask veterans what they are like, and see if anyone new is planning on going. We could also talk about the pros and cons about these sort of city-wide festivals.
Interviews: students who have attended/are planning to attend the Pillow Fight.

5. Minicourse: News/features
Seeing as it's close to minicourse, we could do a profile of some of the traditional minicourses that happen at MA every year, such as Visionquest, etc. and talk to the leaders and ask why they lead the same minicourse every year, and also what is so special about their minicourse. This is also a good way for students (especially fr./soph.) to see minicourses that they might be interested in for next year.
Interviews: Leaders of minicourses, students who have been on these certain minicourses.

1. Expand on Education article and write about UC tuition increase and about seniors who applied early decision and why they did and where they are going/choice to go to UC or not?

2. Literary Festival - what is being offered? why is it a week rather than in the past it has only been two days? interview Jim Baldwin and other English teachers involved

3. Uncensored - coming in March! Preview of all the workshops and talk to facilitators and Sanj about preparation and the event this year

4. Snow! Students who have been to Tahoe this year. Follow up on Ski vs. Snowboarding point counter-point and ask for students opinions

5. Winter Formal! Who is going? Carry on with the idea of spirit at the dances, where is it going to be? What are people wearing? Do people bring dates? Who is excited!? Interview students and ask faculty about their experience as chaperones.

1. global warming; how many people believe in it or not?
we can take polls about how many people think humans are causing global warming and how many think its natural. it would be interesting to hear both sides since its a controversy these days
interviews: eco council/students at ma/mark stefanski

2. religion; traditions
how religion is viewed here at ma
take a poll to see who identifies as which religion. ask about how many people have a christmas tree even thought they may not be "christian" or "catholic"
interviews- jew crew/students at ma

3.i really like jen's idea about doing an article about minicourse. we could interview past participants of the popular minicourses and leaders. also we can weight the pros and cons of off vs on campus mini courses

4.i agree we katie i DEFINITELY think we should do an uncensored. its the perfect way to spread publicity and get the word out to everyone about it. we can interview past facilitators and sanjai. Also we can list past uncensored workshops last year.

5.pets people have. we can interview people with pets about their daily routines and quirky things about them. we can take a poll about how many people own pets and see what is the most prevalent pet. we can weight the pros and cons of dog vs cat

Claire Fox:

1. I agree with Katie on a winter formal article and it could be a follow up on the article about MA Dances. I heard that a lot more people attended the spirit dance in the fall and we could follow up on that in the Winter Formal Article.

2. In early February there is the winter play and we could write a profile on it interviewing students in it and whoever is directing it.

3. Lit Fest: in february is the literary festival and we could feature what some of the different workshops or lectures are. We could interview Jim Baldwin and other faculty members involved.

4. I think it would be really fun and interesting to do a piece on teachers and faculty when they were in high school. We could include pictures on them when they were in high school and a description on what their interests and hobbies were.

5.I agree with Katie and Ruby on writing a piece about Minicourse because it is an important week in the school year and something that sets MA apart from other schools. It would be interesting to see if there were any new ones added from last year or if any were cancelled. We could interview also Lynn to see which minicourses are the most popular.

1. Faculty Couples (Features)
Since it's close to Valentines Day we could do a feature on married couples within our faculty and what their traditions are for the day. If we don't have too many couples within the community, we could also include some married faculty and their spouses.
Interviews: Jamie and Mary, Josh and Trixie

2. Minicourse (News/Features)
I agree with the Minicourse ideas and maybe adding on why the freshmen choices are so limited. For most I think Minicourse is about learning about something you might not be exposed to as much in daily life and meeting new members of the community so why are the freshmen isolated from the rest of the grades?

3. Senioritis/Senior Project (Features)
College decisions are going to start rolling in and seniors are going to start checking out. So doing a feature on the legendary "Senioritis" would be fun. We could interview various teachers to see what they feel about it and seniors to see what their plans are for the glorious second semester. We could also include something about Senior Project in here.

4. The Squal/Winter Weather (News)
From what the weather guys say, it's supposed to rain a ton in the next few months. How does this effect MA students considering our campus is so open and requires us to walk outside to get to classes. We could also discuss how this affects the off campus/cafe crowds. Numerous interviews could be conducted for this.

5. Point-Counterpoint: Chick Flicks vs. Serious Dramas (A&E)
With Valentine's Day comes a slew of chick flicks that release and many either say that it is a great time to go see movies, or it's a dead month because no "worthy" movies are released. This would be a fun article for two of us on the staff to do or we could make it a standard feature and interview students.

Sports
Winter break skiing: Which Ski resort is the best? lot of people at MA ski, it could be interesting to poll people on what there favorite resort is and why. it would be an interesting look at the preferences of MA students.
Any Avid Skiers, teachers or students

A&E
Winter Play: I know this year there were cuts (jen mentioned this aswell). It would be interesting to interview david and some of the people who got cut (anonymously?) to see how they feel about the cuts. we could ask about how students feel this will effect their desire to participate in future productions, etc
David Sinaiko, Students who tried out

A&E:
Inside the Arts: This piece could be a diverse look at all the different arts. Student in one art program often know little about the other art programs. this Article would give insight into the challenges and benefits of all the different arts.
Art students from all the different programs, Program heads

Feature:
Seniors last semester: We could interview seniors about what there hopes and aspirations are for their last semester here. we could go into detail about the bliss that is second semester, what they will miss, and how they hope they can change and impact the school (positively) in their final months here
Seniors.

FEATURE
Its a little late for this one, but we could look into japanese in its last years here. The japanese program is being phased out for chinese. we can look into why that change was made and how students feel about it.
Hideko, Jessie Liu, japanese students, joe harvey

1. A&E
We should do an article about the opinion of the music performances such as the Jazz one in January. How many people attend them? Basically, they need their own profile. People we need to interview include band members and random MA students who saw the performances.

2. Features
Almost a year ago, Obama stood on the capitol and took the oath of office. At that time, about 70% of Americans liked his job. Now, that number is at about 50%. What do MA students think of Obama's handling of issues such as the stimulus, healthcare, Afghanistan and other issues? People we can interview are the leaders of the Peace and Justice Coalition, Mark Stefanski and maybe some students who are not politically aware to get a broad feel for Obama's job.

3. Features
I mentioned this idea a few times but I really think we need an article on the mock trial. The model UN is about the same size as mock trial and they are similar clubs so if model UN got a profile, mock trial should definitely get one too. Since they have the trial at late January/early Feburary, the time the Voice comes out, doing a piece on the mock trial would have perfect timing. Also, I have noticed alot of non members are interested in the mock trial but do not know what it is about and an article about the mock trial would certainly clarify any confusion. Alot of people I know who are not on the mock trial team but hear about it do not really know what mock trial is but they want to. Also, the mock trial was formed in 2007 by Talia Rosenberg '09 and she was the leader of the team for its first two years. An interesting question would be how the team is working without Talia at the helm. Also, the faculty advisor is Travis Brownley so it would be interesting to get her perspective on the mock trial too. One other interesting aspect would be the rivalry between Tam which always wins first place and how the MA team would like to try to get close to Tam because it would be nearly impossible to beat them. Another topic could be strategies about how the mock trial team plans to improve on last year's performance. People to interview would be the coaches and team members.

4. Features
I have heard alot of people talk about minicourses. We could have a profile on a select few but instead of just on old ones, we could compare and contrast. We could do it by saying "minicourses then and now." The minicourses now would be the new minicourses this year and we could talk about how minicourses have changed or remained the same since they were formed in 1992. Also, we could ask people what minicourses were popular which may help us determine whether the old or new minicourses are attracting the most applicants. People to interview should be one student per class, Lynne Hansen, new minicourse leaders and old minicourse leaders.

5. Sports
The Voice will come out as winter season draws to a close and spring sports begin. Are athletes looking forward to spring sports? Which spring sports appear most popular this year? People we should interview include Josh Frechette, athletes and coaches.

Winter Formal: I agree we should definitely do a piece on winter formal which will be coming soon after the release of the next issue. I think it should have a different view or premise than the article we already did about the first spirt dance.

Art Show: I'm not sure when the date of the art show is, but I think its close to the release date of this issue. We could have some of the pieces in the paper and write about them.

THE BLACK HOLE: It is still there! If you ask "Why?" It is because we haven't written an article about it yet. What is its meaning, why does it lay barren with its jagged splintered wood chips? Who put it there? I am adamant about addressing this problem and finding out more.

New Courses: I agree with Jen that we should write something about new course such as African Dance or any other interesting additions. An ASF would be good for this idea.

Mac or PC, Verizon or AT&T: The commercials are everywhere saying that they are supreme, but what is the technological standpoint of MA students. Does Verizon really cover all of those red dots on their advertisement, and are PC's well represented by the nerdy guy with the glasses?

1. Feature: Nancy Hoffman's return. Nancy has taken a sabbatical to god knows where. If she returns in time we could interview her on where she went(if she even went any where), what she did, and how, if so, did it change her. Another alternative to this piece is interviewing Susie Aarons, who replaced Nancy this semester, and ask how she liked her experience here at MA.

2. This is kind of going off of Neha's faculty couples, but we could also do student couples. I think that the students would relate to that more. We could ask them how long they've been together and if they've met each other's parents? It would be hard to come up with questions that don't make the couples feel uncomfortable but I am sure we could think of some good ones.

3. Fallowing the same Valentine's theme, somebody could right a short article inside box to feel up space with bullet points or numbers on how to maintain a relationship/ask somebody out, etc. Something along those lines.

4. Feature: behind the scenes of MA theater. What are the tech people doing backstage? What are some of the most important tech positions? How many hours do the tech people put into the shows?

5. I know that there's been some talk of utilizing the space and buildings better as part of the strategic. We could interview some students on what changes they would like to be made to the campus. This could help Travis get a sense for what the kids want and the kids get a sense for what the parameters are for adding on to the campus according the strategic plan, because I am sure most of the students have not read the strategic plan.

1. I agree with Claire's idea on profiling the winter theater production, but I think we could approach the article differently. Over the past two years I have noticed that many students, faculty members, and parents find MA's plays to be convoluted and obscure. Though it seems that some students "root" for these kinds of productions, others find them confusing and stray away from going. This could make for an Op-Ed article, or we could just stick with the previous idea.

2. I definitely agree with Katie on the Literary Festival (LitFest) front. It will be from February 9 - 11. Again, this obviously depends on whether or not the issue will be out prior to the Festival, but we could profile the authors coming to Marin Academy, their work, how it went, etc.

3. Though I know we've talked quite a bit about the MA Café, we could do a short follow-up article on "Basta on the Pasta" and introducing the "new" MA Café. It seems that Epicurean has been much better at selecting food choices that are appealing to MA students.

4. I recommended this once before, but thought it was worth mentioning again: the language program at MA. We could interview Joe Harvey, students, and faculty members on their opinions of Japanese being phased out and Mandarin being implemented into the curriculum. Any other languages that students wished were offered at MA?

5. I think Marshall's article on the Mac vs. PC / ATT vs. Verizon is promising. It would make for a potentially funny, light-hearted piece that many students would be willing to comment on. We could also get creative here with graphics and graphs/polls.

6. The classical music program at MA. It seems rather unappreciated and few really know all that much about them. We could profile the Chamber Gladiators, for example.

1. Features: I think a piece on what recently graduated alumni are doing could be interesting. I know we've sort of tried doing this in the past but I'm sure a lot of people are doing interesting things (whether in college or doing a gap year) and we could focus on a few of the most interesting.

2. Features: On a sort of related note, we could talk about the partnership between the Advanced Biology class and Daraja academy in Africa. Interviews: Rio and Olivia (over the phone or something), Mark, students in Advanced Biology.

3. Entertainment: We could do a profile on the amount of computer game playing that goes on. This wouldn't be a super serious piece or anything but there is an incredible amount of time spent by some students on computer games (just check out the computer lab any lunch time)

4. Sports: This might be more features but we could modify the idea of a minicourse article to focus on the minicourses that are especially athletic. interviews: faculty leading the courses, students who are on them or have been in past

5. News: I like Jen's concept of a piece on new classes.

1. Avalanche Protection:
Going off of the skiing theme of winter break, it is important for students to know what to do when an Avalanche occurs, and what are some signs of Avalanches that are going to go off. Also where are the most common locations Avalanches occur on the ski mountain.
Must interviews: Any Experiences student and faculty skiers.

2. Faculty Athletes!
An article about any faculty members that played sports collegially or even in high school. A brief description of their career highlights, and maybe suggestions they have towards MA's athletic program. Also a favorite professional team of the sport the teacher played or still plays.

3. MA Campus Evolution
Since MA has been working on the strategic plan we should write an article about what MA looked like in the past years. A timeline of pictures would make this article great showing the gradual evolution of our school. Must interviews: The strategic planners(I don't know who they are), faculty members that have been here a long time such as Glen, James, etc

4. Minicourse selection:
Going off what everyone else said about minicourse, I think it would be interesting to include how Lynn chooses what students get which minicourse. In the past two years I have never gotten my top choices, and so have many other students, so It would be great to investigate how the selection process works. Must interviews: Lynn Hansen

5. Faculty Commuters:
We have written articles about where students commute from, but where do the teachers come from? A map including arrows showing where various faculty commute from to get to MA. Must interviews: All Faculty.

1. New teachers for the second semester: I can remember going into second semester of last year (and this year I will also have a new spanish teacher) with a bunch of new teachers, and feeling like I had just gotten used to the teaching styles and personalities of my previous ones. We could interview students on how they feel about switching teachers half way through the year, and also interview teachers on how it feels to take on a whole new group of students.

2. Winter Formal: I agree with a lot of people's ideas to do an article on Winter Formal, and think that it would be a great opportunity to talk about why people decide not to bring dates. I know of a lot of schools where dates are always apart of their winter formal, yet at MA it seems to be that prom is the only opportunity for people to bring a date. We could interview students, probably more in the junior and senior classes, on why they think dates aren't that popular for Winter Formal.

3. Literary Festival: Lit fest begins on February 8th, and continues up to the 11th. We could write an article focusing on the authors that will come to speak at MA. Also, we could interview both students and teachers on why they think that lit fest is an important part of MA and what they enjoy about it.

4. Spring Sports: The first day of Spring sports is on February 8th. It might be interesting to have a section of The Voice that includes quotes from all the different Spring sport coaches on what their goals are for the season, and what school they think will be their toughest competition.

5. Valentine's Day: Like a lot of other people have already mentioned, I think that it is definitely necessary to have an article on Valentine's day. It would be a fun and more lighthearted piece, and we could interview both students and teachers on what there favorite Valentine's Day memories are. It might also be good to include memories from students of all four grades.

1. Feature: Inspired by the uncensored thing, what happened to Open Forum? It seems like it just disappeared without any sort of announcement. Maybe I missed some information on this one but I really haven't heard anything about it. Interview: whoever used to run open forum- Lynne? Travis?

2. Feature/News: I know Glenn and Tom have missed some time this semester for surgeries, so we could talk to them (or any other teachers in the same situation) on what its like to miss time from school, especially around finals time. What happened? How hard is the decision to miss school? Did they gain some perspective on how hard it is for students to catch up? Did they have to give up their breaks to making up for lost classtime? Interview: Tom & Glenn

3. Feature: Assemblies- I know a lot of students that gripe about having to go to assembly every other day (and some that don't go at all). This article could go in the direction of what students dislike about assemblies and how they would change them, since they obviously can't just go away. We would definitely need admin input on this one with reasons why assembly is how it is and if/what they might be doing to make it better.

4. Feature/News: How do students get their news/information? Not everyone reads the paper all the time and I think we've established that twitter hasn't really caught on at MA. Do they get news from friends on Facebook or just from the Voice? Does anyone sit and watch the news anymore? We may find that we have some responsibility to bring more national and world news to the Voice outside of the center spread. Interview: students

5. News: Illegally downloading music- A lot of people do it on a larger scale, but how prevalent is it within MA? Is it something only the more computer-inclined people do or is it pretty common. I'm not sure how many students would own up to it or even how common it is, but it happens a lot with high school and college students so it might hit home. Interview- students (probably anonymously)

1. NEWS/FEATURE
Phase out of the Japanese Program: As Hideko announced, this is the last year the Japanese will be taught. Also, there are some exchange students visiting from Japan. Who will host? What languages are students planning on taking now? Are people still going to try and practice the language and learn the culture? Interviews: Hideko, Japanese students, maybe the exchange students who are visiting.

2.FEATURE
Epicurean/Organic food follow-up: So I know we have talked a ton about food and food service etc. but we could look into how healthy Epicurean food actually is. We always go for local and organic, but look at the bread and bagels. They are white, processed, bleached flour...last time I checked no whole grain option. Are we as a community really committed to "healthy" or are we just seeking buzz words and a title?

3. FEATURE
Winter TRends: So we did the latest summer clothes, how about winter styles?

4. A&E
Movie/Play Reviews: I know the NEW MOON craze will be over by then, but there are a couple of movies coming out. One is with the Michael Cera (the Juno guy) called Youth in REvolt. Another called It's Complicated, with Meryl Streep and Steve Martin.

5. SPORTS:
Cost of different sports: So we did cost of the college process, and I think we could do a similar thing with one sport or comparing a couple sports. LArge picture of an athlete holding his/her gear and we could talk about travel costs etc. Interviews: Josh Frechette, Josh Kalkstein, soccer players, track, waterpolo...kind of depends on the sport.

A&E: The art show. What pieces stood out? Interview artists on the process, what other pieces they like. Interview Katherine and Anne about the first semester.

Sports: How did basketball do? Interview captains about the season. Interview coaches. How has the team improved since the beginning of the season? Did they reach their goals?

Winter Formal: I also think there should be an article about winter formal, as the dances seem to spark a lot of interest in the community. Where is it going to be held? What teachers are chaperoning? What grades are planning on going?

The Circle: Are students still trying to keep the circle alive? It seems like as the weather has gotten colder, there have been less attempts to facilitate 'circle parties.' Has the old "circle vibe" officially dissapeared?

Favorite winter activities: Interview students and Faculty about what their favorite winter activities are. Interview teachers, students of all grades, and Travis?

1) so i already proposed this, but its a good idea so im a post it again. I think we should really interview the boys freshman bball coach/ varsity assistant coach james baker aka coach be-legit. He's a great guy and he is a big fan of ma.

2) Mini course. In my opinion the mini course options this year are lacking, unlike in the past. So im trying to figure out why mini course has changed a lot, and how can we improve it. what sudents want to see and how they want it changed.

3) Nancy Hoffman: We gotta welcome back nancy hoffman because she is a renowned teacher at ma and she is coming back for second semester. So we definitely need to talk to her and since she was on sabotical we can talk about that too!

4) Winter Break: What did kids do over winter break, or what are they planning to do for the upcoming vacation. I feel like we could do what people have done in the past as well. I mean I always find it interesting to hear about what others did on vacation, im sure the readers would too!

5) Ping pong club:
what happened to ping pong club. I know they were trying to start it up and i mean a lot of people put money into that table and really nothing seems to have come out of it? I havent heard any news about it at all and its kind of disappointing. we should look into this, and where the money went.

6) stolen parking spaces: I dont even know how to approach this, but a ton of people have recently been having their parking spaces taken. and i mean we can do an article on what to do in these situations or to try and catch the criminal....

1. Outcome of the health care bill. We will probably find out the outcome of the health care debate sometime in January. Did the bill pass or not? Why? In what ways will MA be affected or not affected by the outcome?

2. The recent ClimateGate Scandal. (http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/12/02/taking_liberties/entry5860171.shtml). What do people at MA think about this scandal? Is global warming really caused by human activity? Is global warming research consistent with the scientific method that we are taught in our science classes?

3. Fundraising. How does MA raise funds? How much does it raise? What are its goals for fundraising? Where do the funds go? How can students help raise funds and direct where they go?

4. The MA Master Plan. There are a few sentences about it in the Top 10 of 2010 article, but I think that it is important enough to merit its own article. What exactly is the Master Plan? What are the goals? Are there any upcoming workshops? How will it affect the lives of students and teachers?

5. Spring 2010 Outings. What are the outings that will be offered? Who will teach them? What’s new? If outings are being repeated this year, we could interview people, who have been on the outings before, about their experiences.

Sports:
I think it would be cool to do an article on the non competitive sports offered. I know the track coach Don has a training session in the offseason open to anyone who wants to come out. Are there any other programs organized for students who don't want to participate in team sports but still need their P.E. credits.

Global Warming:
I really like Ruby's idea about Global Warming and whether or not people think it's actually happening. This could be a good piece to combine with a 350 day follow up. Did anything happen in the Copenhagen Conference? What are some plans to combat GLobal Warming in the future?

News:
I don't know if this is big enough to do an article on, but I think a piece on the recent weather might be cool. So far we've had a freezing December, and just today the entire field was covered in frost when I got to MA. Maybe it'll snow between now and the next issue and that could be a really cool piece.

Senior Projects:
Again, I don't know if this has been done before, but we could do an article on Senior Projects. What are some topics Seniors choose to research independently? Also this could go well with Neha's "Senioritis" article.

Sports:
I really like Olivia's article idea to compare the equipment costs of each sport. This wouldn't even have to be a full article, as a ASF would work nicely here. Also, for the extremely expensive sports does MA help students interested in participating purchase gear if they aren't able to?

1. Holidays: OP-ED
I have been wanting to do this piece for a while and I think that it would be really interesting. I would examine the religious holidays that we get school off for (yom kippur rosh shashannah) and talk about what its like as a Muslim to take those days off. No interviews. Interest: everyone

2. Sports: The impact of the absence of 09
As much as the senior class likes to dance to techno, there is significantly less attendance at sporting events this year. Could this be because 09 is gone? We could find out... Interviews: students (mainly seniors and juniors), josh frechette.

3. Feature- The decline of minicourse
I feel like minicourse has been going downhill year after year. This can possibly be contribted to lack of money, time, or significanc, but there had definitely been a decline in the quality and excitement around minicourse. Interviews: alumni, seniors, freshmen, lynn hansen

4. Sports: The real differences between JV and Varsisty
We can examine the differences between JV and Varsity, including the effect of playoffs, the mood of practice etc. I think tha thiss would be a really interesting and potentially engaging article. Interviews would include Varity players, JV players, and people who have experienced both. Also maybe Josh F.

5. Feature: Mnicourse for basketball players
Boys and Girls on the Varsity Basketball team cannot go on a minicourse that involves staying overnight somewhere. We can examine the effect this has on the seniors and juniors and how it feels to see all of your friends go on cool minicourses, while you are stuck at school. Interviews: girls and boys basketball teams, lynne hansen, josh f.

1. Why don't we have a ski week? Most other schools I know have a week off in February (right around the time the Voice is coming out), which many people use to go skiing/snowboarding, but MA does not have this week (although we do have a two week spring break). Why don't we have a ski week? Why do we have a two week spring break? We could list the pros and cons (ex: pro: juniors have 2 weeks to go college tripping in the spring, pro: this gives time for longer family trips to perhaps more exotic places during spring break, con: no ski week, con: MA never matches up with other school's breaks (my brother, who is in 7th grade, has a ski week but MA doesn't, and our spring breaks, even though MA's is two weeks, haven't overlapped in the past)- this makes family trips hard), plus interviews with Lynne Hansen/Joe Harvey to see why our school has breaks the way we do, and interviews with students on both sides of the issue.

2. MA students who are in bands outside of school. Interview the students about what it's like, the time commitment, how they find gigs, where they practice, how they got their name, etc. This would also give them some good publicity.

3. Looking ahead... When the Voice comes out, we will be almost done with winter and spring will be right around the corner. What are some fun ways to enjoy the sun?

4. A whole bunch of fun polls of MA students (ex. chocolate or vanilla? cats or dogs? giants or a's? etc.). This would be just a fun short article with probably some good graphs/charts, graphics, and maybe quotes.

5. Overheard at MA. Funny (anonymous) student quotes overheard on campus. This would also be a short article.
