Goal for staff: Make each day your masterpiece. You have to apply yourself each day to becoming a little better. By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach being the best you can be.

Goal for editors & advisor: Define success for those under your leadership as total commitment and effort to the team's welfare. Then show it yourself with your own effort and performance. Most of those you lead will do the same. Those who don't should be encouraged to look for a new team. — John Wooden

Edition 3 Editor Goals

Please post 3 goals you have for your section. Reflect on the last edition, areas where you have the most to improve and areas where you're doing great work. These goals can be design related, deadline related, or anything else. BUT, make sure these are measurable, outcome goals.

Editor Goals:

1. Repeat Design Elements in the Center Spread: I thought that the dominant image in the last center spread worked well, but there were very few repeating design elements to tie everything together. With the apple/pencil/education theme that we have for this edition, I want to be able to tie together the spread a little bit more.

2. Attributions: I need to make sure that everything on the center spread is attributed to someone. Whether it's writing and reporting, graphics, or pictures, everything needs to be attributed to someone. Also, these attributions should be well-placed.

3. Continuing to Push the Envelope: Our staff is capable of some pretty cool stuff now, particularly with out graphic/photo people and photoshop knowledge. We can make some pretty special center spreads, and it is my responsibility to try and bring all of this together to create something outstanding. Hopefully we can do something innovative with this Center Spread.

1. Make the cover quicker and send more love in the center spread direction.

2. DESIGN the center spread instead of just plopping some stuff down.

3. Remember to credit the cover and center spread elements.

4. PICA PARTY!
